Carbonite Server provides easy, reliable backup and recovery for virtual, physical and legacy systems. It offers secure local and cloud backup and flexible restore options that can address any recovery scenario.
To create and configure a backup, go to the Jobs tab from the Carbonite Data Protection Console, and click “Create Backup Job.”
This will open the Select VM page. Select the virtual machine to be protected and configure any disk exclusions. Choose the appropriate settings, then, click “Next” to open the optional Application Awareness page. In this case, we won’t configure application awareness.
Click “Next” to open the Schedule page. Select the frequency of backups and click “Next” to enter the Settings page. Select retention time, the appropriate storage pool, and encryption settings. Then click “Next” to name and save the backup job.
Carbonite Server offers a number of options for restoring virtual machines. Let’s take a look at the first option: “Recover a VM Instantly.”
